Radon Inspections

State of the art Radon testing is offered as one of our optional services. Employing the RadStar RS800 Radon Continuous Monitor, the air in your home can be assessed for 48 hours or more in order to provide minimum, maximum and average Radon level readings present in the air.

Radon is a natural product of radioactive decay, and is present, in low concentrations, in the outside air all around us. It is carcinogenic in high concentrations. Dwellings can have much higher concentrations than outside air, depending on the type of construction or other factors. The purpose of having an assessment of the indoor air in your home is to see if concentrations are high enough to pose a health risk. Mitigation, when indicated, is not necessarily difficult or expensive. Almost Home does not offer mitigation services, because we are objective observers only. Our service helps you to be fully informed.

Testing is non-intrusive, and can be performed in occupied or unoccupied dwellings. Raw data printout is available immediately upon test completion. Additionally, we will provide you with an easily interpreted graph and all testing data within 24 hours of test completion.

Why bother? If there are high levels of Radon in your home, would you rather find out after living there for many years, or be able to mitigate before long-term exposure? If you are a seller, then why not assure potential buyers that Radon is not a concern? Our fee of $150 covers 48 hours or more of continuous testing with state of the art equipment. Retrieval of the testing unit and all reports are included in the fee.

There is never a charge for calling Almost Home NC Inspection Services LLC with your questions, or email david@almosthome-nc.com.
